Florence

HAPPY NEW YEAR

We began and continue our New Year with snow, snow, and more snow. It is heavier than most years so the city has run out of sand and salt. Luckily, we only live a mile from work and the Germans require all weather tires. We spent New Year's Eve with friends. In Germany, New Year's Eve is referred to as Sylvester. At midnight they shoot off fireworks. Danny celebrated his 61st birthday on the 19th. We went to Florence, Italy for a 4 day weekend. Florence was as fabulous as everyone says that it is. SNOWY DAY IN BAUMHOLDER

This is the country road by our house that Danny and Bailey go walking on.

DECEMBER 2009

Sean came to visit for a week in December. We took the train to Berlin. It is beautiful, clean city with lots of history. Christmas was very quiet with no family. We went to some friend's house for dinner. December brought snow to Baumholder. It snows several times a week. Luckily the snow plows and sand trucks work constantly keeping the roads clear.

NOVEMBER 2009

In November, Danny decided to go back to the States to get in some Texas college football leaving Cindy and Bailey to fend for themselves. Kelly and he managed to get in 3 games. He stayed through Thanksgiving. Cindy had a few friends from work over and had a quiet but nice dinner.
